No matter what your style, the great practical thing about vintage china, is that it is always ‘in’.

A vintage china piece, can always find a home or be adapted to a home, in almost any setting.

While other items are ‘trending’ and will go out of fashion, vintage pieces have survived and thrived over decades, and even centuries. A lovely vintage item can look just as ‘at home’ in a modern setting, as it can in a Victorian style home.

For example, we have recently downsized into a smaller, but more modern house. My lovely china looks just as beautiful on my modern oak dresser, as it did on a vintage dresser. And there are so many ways to hang china plates and cups on the wall now, to make a feature of them as art.

The china does not always have to be floral, the art deco period saw some striking geometric patterns and shapes. The colours are bright, and the items were often gilt in platinum or silver instead of gold, which gave an even more modern appearance.
So if you are thinking you love the look of vintage china, but it just won’t suit your decor, give it a try, you might be pleasantly surprised at just how well it does fit in.
