Description
This stunning art deco Lorgnette is just amazing. Dating to the 1920’s / 30’s, it is made from Platinin, which is a silver alloy, higher in silver content than sterling silver, but cheaper than platinum, and made to resemble platinum. The frame is stamped Platinin. The handle is a flower that looks like a Waratah, and is encrusted with sparkling maracites. The lorgnette folds to a tiny size to be able to pop into a purse or bag. Extended it measures 15.5cm, folded it is just 5.5cm. The mechanism works beautifully and the glass is scratch free. It is in stunning condition.
